Shape is an element of design. Artists tell us that all the things we see are one shape, or a combination of shapes. The four basic shapes are the sphere, the cube, the cylinder, and the cone. Look around and see all the shapes! It is fun to pick them out.

A lamp deserves respect and space in a room so it can send out light. What would we do without our lamps? We often take them for grated. Try spending an evening with all the lamps turned off!
